Course Code C0272 Th 3 Pr 3 CrHrs 6

The course runs through winter semester and summer semester starting from 1st of Sept.2021 and ending around the 30thof May 2022.

This course deals with different modern poems (British, American and worldwide are selected to represent different periods modern poetry passed through. The course is significant as it introduces the students to modern poets of the western countries and familiarize them with the thematic and structural elements of poetry of that period.  

Some of the most important objective of this course is first; to make the students able to identity the main dilemma of modern man as seen in the poetry of that period. Second to explore the relevant social and historical features of that period and the impact of these features of the literary products of the poets. Third, is to familiarize the students with the main poetic schools and moods of that period.
