The Hague /Netherlands 27-30 January 2014 Conference and Workshop. The trip to the Hague especially the ICC gave me an inspirational and the opportunity to see first-hand how the institution works, its Chambers, the Registry, and the Office of the Prosecutor. Besides one cannot leave. In addition, the special Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and that gave me a chance to see Judges and the Registrar in Court, most importantly how the Trial Chamber is testifying the accused of Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and violations of the laws and customs of war. The Cardiff Lecture in law: The European Union and International law: Professor James Crawford (7 April 2014). The lecture discussed the EU as an international organization at its inception and the EU and international law: substantive links arguing that the EU has not become completely detached from public international law, the interaction between EU law and investment law was discussed, eventually the disputes under international law and the EU's Jurisdictional regime was discussed by Professor Crawford. The Lecture concluded the discussion arguing the separation of part of the EU and the continued application of the EU Acquis, the possible case of Scotland.
