Architecture Design V

The third academic year is considered the final stage of the database in the field of architectural engineering where the student identifies the compound and multifunctional projects concerning their use and different service spaces. The structural decisions and the technology of implementation are considered at the top of the designing presentation through choosing short and middle range projects which require structural courses and which are able to be implemented by reinforced concrete structures or iron wide span structures.

 

Students will learn to analyses different functions (Culture Center, Secondary School and Shopping Center or other similar buildings) and zones in the site as well as buildings and understand and adjust the architectural program. They will further learn to incorporate multiple functions and services in a building, identify and apply different structural systems and take sustainability into consideration. This course enables students to design multiple buildings of different usage with supported infrastructure and amenities

At the end of this course the students should have the ability to:

  1. To train students for undertaking design of multi-functions buildings (Culture Center, Secondary School and Shopping Center or other similar buildings), frame structure, considering site planning, structures, services, etc.
  2. Study architecture prevalent in Kurdistan Region and its local character and characteristic elements of design.
  3. Green: Demonstration of world-leading sustainability principles
  4. Global: Understanding of and interprets the past, present and future of the city, iconic, defining the identity and character of Neighborhood, demonstration of excellence in all aspects of planning, design, contemporary, inspired and inventive, and expressive of its time and place, poetic and thought-provoking.

Responsiveness: Welcoming, open and inclusive, integrated and harmonious, visually connected with, and open to, its immediate surroundings, responsive to the site, the wider context, the social needs of the families and whole community
