The aim of this course is to introduce students to approaches to develop a city or a part of it through theoretical analysis of the urban standards and global examples, also through practical survey for a specified site and analyze it in detail. Then a studio work will be conducted for a esign project on an urban area in Duhok governorate.

The student will be expected to be able to:

-         Understand and practice different approaches of urban development.

-         Practicing the survey of urban elements, reporting them and presenting them

-         Drawing urban maps of the study area and redesigning the site, as a practical project.

Improving the continuous group work within phases of presentation and criticism through 2 months until the final presentation at the end of course.
