Second Successful Academic Writing Workshop Supported by the British Academy: A Joint Effort by Nawroz and Durham Universities

Nawroz University and Durham University achieved their second collaborative academic writing workshop, a resounding success that took place on September 27th and 28th, 2023. This remarkable event marked the continuation of their partnership, with support once again generously provided by The British Academy.

The workshop, a testament to the unwavering commitment of both universities, aimed to enhance the academic writing skills of scholars, academics, and students alike. It offered a diverse range of topics, methodologies, approaches, and related facets, enriching the knowledge and skills of all participants.

The workshop received a warm welcome from the President of Nawroz University, Prof. Dr, Abdulwahab Khalid Mosa, who recognized the pivotal roles played by Dr. Mohammedali Yaseen Taha of Nawroz University and Dr. Bahar Baser from Durham University in making this collaborative effort a reality.

This successful workshop series, which aims to support scholars in the field of Kurdish Studies, foster networking opportunities, and facilitate research publication in high-impact journals, has gained momentum. It's noteworthy that this marks the second time that The British Academy has provided invaluable support to both universities, demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence.

As the workshop came to a close, the organizers expressed their heartfelt appreciation to all participants, trainers, mentors, and mentees who contributed to its remarkable success.

The future looks promising as Round II of this initiative is already underway. Round I culminated in a special issue publication within the Journal of Studies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, expected to be published by December, further highlighting the impact of these collaborative efforts. Participants eagerly anticipate future events in the series, building on the knowledge and skills gained during these workshops.
