The ministry council has virtually come together to address the new academic year 2020-2021
Through a zoom meeting, the Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research-KRG addressed the starting date of the new academic year 2020-2021 and mechanisms of ensuring students and staff safety while preserving the high quality of education.
Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, chaired the meeting with the participation of members of the Ministry’s Council.
The meeting brought out several issues, namely
1. The academic year began on September 1, 2020, and is scheduled to finish on June 30, 2021.
2. Universities are granted authority and freedom to choose the starting date of the lectures, which must be from September 20 to October 4.
3. The blended learning system is adapted for this academic year 2020–2021.
